Just in time for Easter!

I have this long list of things that I wanted to make for Easter but Easter is fast approaching so I narrowed my list down to a select few, mostly to things I have never made before.

So I have been busy creating the last few days and want to share what I have made with you.

First is a cute little bag/box with a punched bunny. The ears are cut and embossed with the Cuttlebugs Build-a-Flower die & embossing set. I wasn’t to crazy about the mouth, I probably should have left it off but oh well, she’s still cute, at least to me :0)

Secondly is a slide box that holds a package of Hostess 100 Calorie Carrot Cakes. I thought these were the cutest things and for a low calorie snack their not bad tasting either, LOL!

The cute graphics are by Laurie Furnell and you can get them here at PcCrafter

Next are these little treats that hold a Ghirardelli chocolate. I had fun making these and kept them pretty simple but I can see so many fun ways to make these for so many different occasions and holidays.

You can find the directions to make them at procrastistamper blog.

Also once again the cute graphics are by Laurie Furnell.

Below is another fun way to give a treat to someone special and this time it’s a lollipop. I had some See’s lollipops and they fit perfect in the Sizzix pillow box. I’m sure other lollipops will work just as well, I just happened to have these on hand. These are really easy to make.

Cut out a pillow box using the Sizzix Bigz die and you can buy this die here from Stampin’ Up!. Next using strong adhesive such as the red liner tape to seal the side seam. The I used the largest hole from my Crop-a-dile to punch a hole in the middle of one of the bottom flaps. Fold and seal the end with the hole. Then add your lollipop from the open top of the box making sure the stick goes thru the hole. Fold top down and I didn’t seal the top but you can if you want. Next is the fun part, decorating the box. I used graphics from Laurie Furnell yet again, can you tell I love her art. The bunny box I added glitter because I love all things glittery :0)

The kitty box I used a Sizzix texture plate but you really can’t see that in the picture. The owl one is simply ribbon wrapped around and the owl attached to the center.

Really easy and fun project and again great for holidays, birthday favors, or any other special occasions.

P4080012

My last project has nothing to do with paper crafting at all.

This is an Easter Cottage Foam kit that I bought at Michaels. They were on sale for 5 dollars, really not bad price for such a cute Easter display.

The only thing I didn’t do that may shock you all is not adding any of the glitter that it came with.

I know what’s wrong with me, huh?

Well I was anxious to get it put together and didn’t want to wait for the glue to dry, so left it off.

I may still add some, just haven’t decided yet.

I would like to thank you all for visiting my blog and I

also want to wish each and every one of you a very

Fabulous Friends

This set called “Forest Friends” from Stampin’ Up! is so adorable I had to make something else with it today. I decided to try making a shadow box card. I’ve made this type of card once before but I think this one turned out much better.

I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the front of the card with the Hounds tooth embossing folder. The oval was cut out using my Nestabilities.

Of course the Owl, Bunny, Deer and the Tree are all in the Forest Friends stamp set that will be for sale in the Occasions Mini Catalog starting April 1st. Just hours away!

The oval scallop punch is also new as is the set that matches the punch called “Oval All”.

I have to admit this card was very hard to photograph well enough to show the embossing and that the animals as well as the saying are all on dimensionals for that 3D effect. The second picture kinda gives you a better idea of the 3D effect.

I almost forgot to say I used white cardstock for the inside background and used sponges to sponge blue for the sky and green for the grass.

Chunky Birthday Card

P3270005

Inside of card, I added the last line, LOL!

P3270004

This is the card I made my husband for his birthday tomorrow. I know many of you are thinking ok that’s a different looking birthday card and saying.

Well it’s kind of an inside joke with my husband and I.

If any of you have seen the movie Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, this may start to make sense.

For those of you who haven’t seen this movie or still don’t get it, I will try to explain.

A couple months back we watched this movie and the scene where the big ol’ male hippo see’s Gloria the female hippo he starts singing a song that goes like this;

I like em big, I like em chunky and so on…..

You can hear the song here on Youtube.

Well after the movie for a couple weeks I kept singing that song and it was driving my husband up the wall.  So of course being the nice sweet wife that I am, I kept singing it, LOL!!!

I know I’m bad :0)

Then a couple weeks ago I saw on Splitcoaststampers  a card someone made with a punch art Hippo so that got me to thinking of this song and what a great idea for his birthday card. So that is the story behind why I made this card.

I thought it came out really cute and while this song may annoy my husband I think he will find the humor in this card, at least I hope so!

I guess we shall see tomorrow :0)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Spring Card Swap

I wanted to share the cards I made in a Spring card swap I was in at PcCrafter. I put off sharing them till I knew my swap partners had received their cards.

The theme of the swap was to make a spring card with flowers. I used Stampin’ Up! stamp set called “Sweet Stems” and Raspberry Tart designer series paper. I really enjoyed making this card as the flowers are so delicate and so easy to color in using my ink pads and a blender pen.

I also made the inside of the card and an envelope to match.

Now I just wish the weather would get warmer to match the pretty floral spring card I made :0)

A Special Note

Here is a quick project using a round chipboard coaster. I bought a bunch of these last year to make Christmas ornaments but never did get around to making them. So I decided today I am finally going to use one to make something with and this is what I came up with.

I covered the coaster with some pretty Stampin’ Up! “Raspberry Tart” designer series paper and also the  metal clip.

I then took my huge Marvy circle punch and cut out 12 circles. Using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, which I must say is becoming my new best friend these days, and stamped the cute birdie from the stamp set “Cheep Talk” at the bottom of each circle. I then used another stamp from the same set but used my chocolate chip SU marker to ink just part of the saying and again using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line it up on the side. Lastly I sponged some Kiwi Kiss around the edges.

All the sheets are held to the coaster with the clip, which you can get at any office supply store.

I think these would be great little gifts to give or even put a heavy duty magnet on the back to put on the fridge, file cabinet or even for kids to put on their lockers at school :0)

Lilac Tree

I made this simple looking card today and it uses a new product I have been wanting to use. It’s called Flower Soft. It like tiny tiny little flowers, well ok not really but sure does give that impression.

Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers and not just because it’s my states flower (NH) either. I love the smell of lilacs in bloom, I find its such a sweet delicate smell and of course purple/lilac is my second favorite color after pink :0)

I first used Stampin’ Up! stamp set called “Branch Out” and then used Aleene’s glue in the gold bottle to dab glue on the tree and then covered it with the Flower Soft. Before the glue was dried I also added some matching purple glitter as you know everything looks better with glitter, lol!

The base of the card was embossed with the Cuttlebug Argyle embossing folder.

Forest Friends Sneak Peak and more…..

Today’s project is candy wrappers that uses not one, not two but three new stamp sets and punch coming April 1st in Stampin’ Up! Occasions mini catalog.

The first set is called “Forest Friends” and that includes the adorable deer and bunny stamps plus an owl and tree that’s not shown. Don’t they look almost like Bambi and Thumper, too cute for words!

The next stamp set is one called  “Oval All” which consists of 4 stamps that coordinate with the New Scallop Oval punch (coming April 1st) shown on the deer wrapper. The large SU oval punch fits perfectly in this new punch and that is what I used to punch out another sentiment from this same set to use on the bunny wrapper.

The ribbon is the free Sale-A-Bration ribbon bundle that you can get free with any order totaling $50.00 or more but hurry fast Sale-A-Bration ends March 31st!

The papers are from SU’s Tea Party and Candylane designer series paper packs. I also used SU’s Scallop border punch and a Martha Stewart border punch. I added just a hint of Stickles on the bunnies tail and the deer’s ear and spots on his back.

So there is a sneak peak of a few things to come April 1st in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I know you will love this new catalog, there are so many new stamp sets, paper, punch, ribbon, accessories and new Bigshot dies you won’t want to miss!

Thanks for looking :0)

Something smells Fishy

Well not really, kinda more like minty, LOL!

I really wanted to make something other than a card today for a change of pace.

So I decided to try a new stamp set coming out April 1st in the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions mini catalog. This is just one of 10 stamps in this set called “Just Beachy”.

I stamped the fish images with Black Stazon ink and colored them in with my ink pads and a Blender pen. Next I punched them out with the 1 1/4” circle punch and then added those to a co-ordinated colored scallop circle punch. Then I attached them to small Peppermint Patties also with a plain colored scallop circle for the back. I took a strip of paper and stamped it with a seashell from the retired stamp set “Crab & Company” and finished it off by sponging color over the entire thing. I used some red liner tape to attached the peppermints to my stamped and sponged background and placed it in a long ziplock plastic baggie.

I then made a topper the same as I did the background. The stamp I used on my topper is from one of the Sale-A-Bration free stamp sets called “Yummy” for the sentiment.

Also as a reminder Sale-A-Bration ends March 31st so don’t hesitate to much longer if you were thinking of placing an order of $50.00 or more to receive your free stamp set, designer paper or ribbon bundle.

Butterfly under Glass?

Ever since I saw this technique called “Cracked Glass” I couldn’t wait to give it a try. Well last week my Stampin’ Up! Glassy Glaze came and this is one of the things I create using the Butterfly from the level one Hostess set called “God’s Beauty”.

I bet your all wondering how it’s done, right???….

Well it’s not hard at all.

You will need the following supplies;

a Stamped image of your choice

Versamark Ink pad

Stampin’ Up! Glassy Glaze

Heat Tool

Tin Foil

A Freezer, haha

Take the Versamark ink pad and holding it upside down press it completely over your stamped image, making sure all of it is covered with the Versamark. Next put your stamped image on a scrap piece of paper and sprinkle generously with the Glassy Glaze. Shake off excess Glassy Glaze and I like to move the stamped image on to a piece of tin foil that’s a couple layers thick. Pour the extra Glassy Glaze back into the container. Take your heat tool and heat your image just until the Glassy Glaze melts and becomes shiny. Let it cool for a few minutes and then repeat the process of covering with Versamark, Glassy Glaze and heating it 2 more times for a total of three times. After the third time place your stamped image in your freezer, yes I said the freezer for about 5 minutes.

Take it out and gently bend the paper and the harden Glassy Glaze will make cracks that look like “Cracked Glass”  hence where the name of this technique comes from.

That’s how easy it is and now it’s ready for putting on a card, scrapbook page or other project.

Now wasn’t that fun? I think so :0)
